Japan’s premier volleyball league, SV.LEAGUE, proudly hails the reigning regular season champions, Osaka Bluteon, after they finished runners-up at the FIVB Men’s Club World Championships 2025, held in Belém, Brazil, from December 16 to 22. By reaching the final, Osaka Bluteon became the first Japanese club in history to advance to the championship match of the FIVB Men’s Club World Championships — a landmark achievement for Japanese volleyball and a defining milestone for the SV.LEAGUE.

Commenting on this historic accomplishment, Masaaki Okawa, Chairman of SV.LEAGUE, said:
“Osaka Bluteon’s run to the final represents a breakthrough moment for Japanese club volleyball. Reaching the championship match of the FIVB Men’s Club World Championships for the first time in history shows that clubs from SV.LEAGUE have firmly established themselves among the world’s elite.

“SV.LEAGUE was launched with a clear ambition: to become one of the world’s leading volleyball leagues. This historic final appearance reflects the steady progress we are making in raising competitive standards, strengthening club management, and creating an environment in which players and coaches can thrive on a global stage.

“We view this achievement not as an endpoint, but as a foundation for the future. SV.LEAGUE will continue to invest in long-term growth, international collaboration, and sustainable development, with the goal of enabling more clubs to compete for global titles and inspiring the next generation of volleyball players and fans.”

The SV.LEAGUE will build on this historic performance as it advances its long-term vision to position Japan as a global hub for elite volleyball, fostering stronger international connections and delivering world-class sporting experiences both on and off the court.
